NEW ISSUE / 17 / LIGHT IN ARCHITECTURE

K 1-4

There is no need for defining natural or artificial light, but we must be aware that both light sources help us perceive our surrounding. Change in the perception of surfaces directly affects the hierarchy of seeing the surfaces and spaces of an object. Architect Bruno Zevi has named one of his essays “Light as Architectural Form”. Le Corbusier went a little further, saying: “Architecture is the wise, correct and magnificent play of volumes gathered under light.”

Arhitekton Magazine Competition – Third Annual Award

Konkurs časopisa Arhitekton – Treća godišnja nagrada

PROJECT PORTFOLIO 33 – We are choosing 33 architects from all fields, up to 33 years of age (students can apply also!). Projects of completed buildings, preliminary designs or of any kind of work, that represent your overall personal work and are good enough to place you among 33 most talented architects in the country, should be submitted.

New issue – 16

Arhitekton 16

The theme of this issue is in many ways continuation of the last issue’s topic where we discussed if we should take pleasure in architecture, like we enjoy art, or it should provide us with the pleasure of comfort and other positive effects of spending time in modern buildings. Now we are taking that question one step further by addressing the issue of exhibition buildings which interiors serve as display areas for other types of art.
