Health Centre and house for elderly people

The project is located on an area with a landscape of great importance for its intrinsic agricultural tradition, characterized by the presence of terraces built with dry stone walls of considerable size. A compromise between the design philosophy and the morphologic complexity of the soil had to be reached due to the peculiarity of the settlement type. On that account, emerges the idea of a single façade towards the valley and its bending profile which simulates the soil contour lines.

Loft Renovation

Loft Renovation

Rarely do architects in Vienna, Austria get the opportunity that Lakonis Architekten did with the renovation of the top floors of this historic building. They were able to build a modern loft space in an original building without compromising the historical aspects of what the location brings. At first glance you see a classic four-story corner building; then looking up you spot a modern roof structure that is made of steel, wood, and concrete.

This housing complex consists of 9 one-room units measuring approximately 20m2 and 3 units measuring approximately 30m2.
