To satisfy those human desires while achieving urban preservation, the new concept of housing for coming era can be the ­­straight forward additions based on the existing backgrounds to be preserved.

Aloni

The name of the house itself, Aloni, refers to the remains of a crop-harvesting circle that was found and preserved as part of the agricultural past of the site.The design of the house is a dual response to the particular topography of the site and to the rural domestication techniques that in the past shaped the raw ‘Cycladic island’ landscape.

Five small structures (ground floor plan dimensions 1×1.5m) were constructed in the yard, on the bases of the old archetypal principle of repetition. It is the principle that relentlessly builds, upgrades, partitions and adds strictly utilitarian facilities. In this case a number of identical concrete volumes multiplied in a regular rhythm.

The strong territorial expansion of Mexico City in recent decades led to the carelessness and decay of many of the neighborhoods with most history and tradition as Condesa, Roma, Juarez and others. In recent years, this deterioration was used by Mexican architects to begin recycling the neighborhoods, using old buildings and turning them into pieces of modern architecture which led to these areas again to be the most expensive and desired of the Country’s Capital.
