After successful completion of the international competition for the preliminary design of the Architecture Pavilion, organized by Magazine Arhitekton, a three-day exhibition of the entries was held in the Museum of King Peter I in Belgrade.
455 architects and architect teams from around the world applied to the competition. There were 290 submissions that meet the terms of the competition and 765 architects worked on these solutions. According to these data and the data we collected from our web site it is estimated that about 1650 architects participated in this competition (part of them did not send their works).
We invite you to visit the exhibition “The 2nd Annual Magazine Arhitekton Award” and attend the opening award ceremony. The exhibition will be held from 17-19 May in Belgrade, in the Museum of King Peter I, 40 Vase Pelagića, Senjak.
Think Space 2012 – PAST FORWARD cycle devised by this year’s guest curator Adrian Lahoud, a former winner in the 2011 Borders Cycle, aims to repeat three competitions that radically transformed architectural culture: The Peak (1982), Yokohama Port Terminal (1995), and Blur Building (1999), with participating architects in the original competition acting as jurors in the current one: Zaha Hadid & Patrik Schumacher (jurors for The Peak), Alejandro Zaera-Polo (juror for Yokohama Port Terminal) and Ricardo Scofidio & Charles Renfro (juror for the Blur Building).
