Young Architect Dimitrije Bugarski – Laureate of the Second Magazine Arhitekton Award

After successful completion of the international competition for the preliminary design of the Architecture Pavilion, organized by Magazine Arhitekton, a three-day exhibition of the entries was held in the Museum of King Peter I in Belgrade.






In addition to the winning and selected projects, all received works from over 50 countries worldwide were presented at the exhibition. The members of the Jury, Arch. Idis Turato, Arch. Miodrag Mirković, Arch. Marko Stojčić, and Mr. Alan Tomanić, representative of Kingspan company, among the 290 projects that met the propositions of the competition, decided to award the first prize to young architect Dimitrije Bugarski who, in a simple and effective way, successfully met the contest requirements and realized the original idea of the Architecture Pavilion. Mr. Alan Tomanić, regional director of Kingspan company, general sponsor of this event, handed the first prize (the amount of 2000 Euros) to the winner. Also, four equal second prizes (three day trip to Austria, professional tour and visit to the Zumtobel Licht factory) were awarded to authors and architect teams: Rui Dos Reis; Adnan Alagić; Uroš Novaković and Renato Pucci; Olivera Lekić; and the third prize (one-year Arhitekton magazine subscription, publishing of the awarded work, public promotion of the work and possibility of publishing one more project in the following year- author’s choice) was awarded to team: Diego Fagundes, Erica Mattos, Paula Franchi, Romullo Baratto.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition “The 2nd Annual Magazine Arhitekton Award”, held on May 17, started with award ceremony hosted by Arch. Marko Stojčić, Editor in chief of the magazine Arhitekton, followed by the cocktail party with refreshments. The well-known music band “Tanja Jovičević and Rich Bitch band” took care of the atmosphere. The rich content of the exhibition was displayed in the three level museum space and, in addition to the works of the competition participants, the sponsors’ exhibits-installations were displayed, as well as the competition video material and the video presentation of the magazine Arhitekton. At the entrance, visitors could see the segment of the winning pavilion, built and assembled in the exhibition area.

The second day of the exhibition was marked by two workshops: “Guide for Architects – Company Sika” held by Mr. Nenad Stamenković from Sika company, and workshop “Light in Architecture – Company Zumtobel” hosted by Vlatka Đurić and Vladimir Konjević from Zumtobel company. The professors and students of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade and students and professors of architecture from the region attended the workshops. During the workshops, between sessions, the refreshments were served and sale and presentation of the Arhitekton magazine was organized. Also, Mr. Saša Pajdić, representative of Zumtobel company, drew the winner of the Zumtobel lamp, Katarina Spasić from Belgrade, among the subscribers of Arhitekton magazine.

The final day of the exhibition was equally attended and all interested were able to review the competition projects thoroughly and appraise the winning and exhibited works.

The exhibition was visited by over 600 visitors. The Austrian ambassador H.E. Mr. Clemens Koja and the representative of Croatian embassy in Belgrade Ms. Valentina Šarčević as well as other officials of companies and institutions from the region attended the exhibition.

With the help of friends, companies Kingspan, Zumtobel, Sika, Alubond, Ytong, Floor Experts and Room Interiors, winery Vršački vinogradi and winery Radulović, the magazine Arhitekton organized the event that has been established as an annual architectural event.

The exhibition was organized in cooperation with the Municipality of Savski Venac, and it was supported by the Association of Belgrade Architects, Association of Architects of Serbia, Association of Architects of Valjevo, Association of Architects of Novi Sad, the Serbian Ministry of Culture, European Architect Associates, Zagreb Architects Society, Split Architects Society, Ljubljana Architects Society, Skopje Architects Society, Croatian Chamber of Architects, Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, architectural faculties in Nis, Novi Sad, Podgorica, Skopje, Zagreb, Split, Sarajevo, Graz and other cities, and many other professional associations from the region. Also the exhibition was supported by TV stations Studio B, B92, RTS, Art, Radio Belgrade, agencies Tanjug and Beta, daily news Politika, Danas, Večernje novosti, portals City magazine, Yellow cab, Seecult, Na dlanu, Krstarica, Bizlife, Prelistavanje, E- kapija, Green design, gradnja.rs, građevinarstvo.rs and others.
