“Connection” – Diversity of the details which form many symmetrical layers you see though the torii, the archway of the Shinto shrine. You will be surrounded by the eternal sacredness and beautifully fresh air. The hair salon is located along the approach to the small shrine called Tetori Shrine. “tetorigarden” was named after it. “Danpatsu”, the act of the haircut used to be concerned to be very sacred in Japan.

This housing complex consists of 9 one-room units measuring approximately 20m2 and 3 units measuring approximately 30m2. The L-shaped design of the building as a whole secures an open space between the entryway and street, while two tree-shaped voids inside the building allow for a compact arrangement of balconies and walkways between units.

Crater Lake is an installation project exhibited at Kobe Biennale 2011 from October 1 through November 23. The project was one of the winners for Shitsurai Art International Competition organized by the city of Kobe.

Los Angeles, CA—Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, partners in the architectural firm, SANAA, have been chosen as the 2010 Laureates of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. The formal ceremony for what has come to be known throughout the world as architecture’s highest honor will be held on May 17 on historic Ellis Island in New York. At that time, a $100,000 grant and bronze medallions will be bestowed on the two architects.
